Georgia Summer {A Rum Cocktail}

It comes with a toast to true friendship and for all the good times to come.Georgia Summer, rum and peaches cocktailIt’s named after Georgia, where Merry lives and where the sweetest peaches reach their peak during the summer.Georgia Summer, rum and peaches cocktailThe people from Denizen Rum gave me the recipe: a sublime concoction made of rum, of course, and grilled peaches muddled with lime juice, brown sugar and fresh basil leaves.
Thanks to these grilled peaches I discovered the wonders of grilling fruit and how it enhances the flavor. So, another reason to celebrate!

Georgia Summer

  • 2 oz Denizem Rum
  • ½ peach pitted and cut in 4 wedged, grilled for 3 minutes each side
  • ½ lemon quartered
  • 3 large basil leaves
  • 2 Tbs. of brown sugar


  • In a shaker, muddle the peaches, lemon and sugar to a paste.
  • Add the basil leaves and lightly press with the muddler.
  • Add the rum and ice and shake for 15-20 seconds. Double strain into a rock glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a basil sprig.
