When I think of summer fruit, watermelon comes to my mind. When I think of a summer cocktail, mojitos are first in line. What can be more summer than watermelon and mojitos? The answer is watermelon mojitos!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you may know, the mojito is my favorite drink<\/a>, and this mojito is no exception. Refreshing and easy to make, the color is as appealing as its flavor: smooth, with subtle minty notes, and with the rum taste lingering at the end. This is the perfect drink to beat the heat! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to make Watermelon Mojito<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Watermelon mojitos are super easy to make. You just need to muddle fresh spearmint or mint leaves with chunks of seedless watermelon and a sweetener. In this case, I used mint syrup<\/a>, which is a simple syrup infused with spearmint leaves. But you can add simple syrup, agave nectar<\/a>, sugar, or monk fruit<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the watermelon is muddled with the spearmint, add lime juice, Ron de Venezuela<\/a>, shake with ice, strain over fresh ice cubes and garnish with a wedge of watermelon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can make watermelon mojitos in pitchers, so if you happen to have a crowd, you don\u2019t have to be playing bartender every time somebody wants a drink. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to do a pitcher, please check in the recipe card below, and adjust the number of servings and that will automatically multiply the amount of every ingredient. Make the mix in advance and keep it refrigerated, and pour over fresh ice at the serving moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With that said, I must confess that for me, the beauty of cocktails is to make them individually: to muddle fresh fruit and herbs, shake them with the spirit, and strain them over fresh ice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every time I do fruit mojitos, I do a virgin version, nicely garnished with sprigs of spearmint for my boys. The only thing you have to do is skip the rum. The kiddos love it and they feel important having such nicely decorated drinks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make this mojito you\u2019ll need fresh watermelon, of course, spearmint or mint, fresh lime juice, a bartender kit<\/a>, or at least a muddler<\/a>, a Boston shaker<\/a>, and a strainer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following is my recipe. I like to say this is the best watermelon mojito ever because I made it with Ron de Venezuela. This means a rum from my home country, Venezuela, which proudly holds the Controlled Denomination of Origin Ron de Venezuela. I hope you like it as much as I do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
