This is my favorite pizza in the world.
Or, to be precise, this used to be my favorite pizza in the world, until I discovered, a couple or years ago, the prosciutto and arugula pizza.
The combination of bacon and green onions gives this pizza flavor and more flavor.
It doesnāt have a lot of mozzarella cheese or tomato sauce, just the necessary amount to make a nice pizza, good to have with a bowl of arugula salad and cold beer.
Bacon bits and green onion pizza | Ingredients for 1 medium pizza
½ pizza dough recipe
½ cup of tomato sauce
¼ cup of bacon bits (cooked until they are golden but not crispy)
½ cup of green onions, chopped
¾ cup of mozzarella cheese shredded
Corn meal (for the pizza peel)
In the middle rack of the oven, preheat a pizza stone to 450°F. Sprinkle the cornmeal on a pizza peel. On a floured surface, with a roller, extend the dough and place it on the pizza peel. Evenly distribute the tomato sauce. Evenly sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese and then the bacon and green onions. Sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella. Place the pizza on the pizza stone and bake it for 9-10 minutes. Take out the pizza from the oven and slice it.
