This is my 100th post. Nine months ago, on my birthday, I decided to blog on the pleasures of the palate. The idea was tempting me for a few months, but I wasn’t sure about having the time to embrace a blog project.
The truth is, I still don’t have the time. Every day I find myself busier with my boys swimming, playing soccer, basketball, announcing they want to do karate too and truly believing they don’t have a mom but a super mom. Besides, I have a full time job that keeps me busy every day.
Everybody asks me, how do I my manage my time to take care of my family and my super demanding job, and at the same time cook, shoot pictures and write in both languages. The answer is discipline.
Sometimes, like today, I wake up earlier. Sometimes I go to bed late. Sometimes I steal a little bit of time from my family. I still don’t have a routine to blog and all the process involved. But I know I will. This is a work in progress. I would say more: a very rewarding work, and I see the best is still to come.
It pays when you see Andrés Ignacio (9) «considering» to become a chef, or Tomás Eugenio (7) announcing he may be a writer or a photographer “like my Mom”. Being an inspiration for my two little boys is the best reward I can have.
Then, I have all your comments, tweets, the pictures you send me to show me what you cook inspired by Savoir Faire. That is more than I was expecting when I started this journey. Not to mention the interviews and mentions in other blogs.
When I check the stats on Blogger, I still cannot believe them. Besides my “natural” readers in the US and Venezuela, I have readers and followers in Argentina, Canada, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom and Uruguay.
More than ever, I want 48-hour days, to share my recipes, ideas and experiences in the kitchen, in my “rum bar” and even in my library, where the shelves dedicated to cooking and cocktails books are the only ones seriously and constantly growing.
This post is an excuse to thank you for being such great companions in this pleasant and exiting journey. Thank you for the joy, love and happiness!
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the following Top 10 Posts. Bon appétit!0
