Spoonfools of Goodness. Today is, no doubt one of the happiest days of the year. Today my boys went back to school. Not that we didn’t enjoy the holiday season. But I’m so super happy to enjoy some solitude to write, listen to my music while I work, and go back to my daily routine. That also means I can seriously get stick to my New Year’s resolutions including going to the gym at least 4 times a week, have more quality time with my two boys, together and individually, and enjoy a more balanced diet that includes fresh fruit on every meal.
My idea was to create a smoothie bowl with yogurt and berries and add some fresh fruit, cereal and almonds on top, but guess what? It’s been chilly in Miami lately so I made a warm bowl of oatmeal with all the goodies on top. That way we can your spoonfuls of goodness for breakfast.
Adding Honey Bunches of Oats® to my oatmeal reminds me of my grandma, who used to say that breakfast needed to be a hot meal, so she made hot oatmeal and we added the cereal a fresh fruit on top. For today’s recipe I made my oatmeal the traditional way and added Post® Honey Bunches of Oats®, fresh blueberries and strawberries, slivered toasted almonds and chia seeds, and then serve it with warm milk.
